Where does the time go??
Ever wonder where all the time goes?? Sometimes it feels like just yesterday I had my first baby and became a mom. Then sometimes I feel like it's never going to end when I'm knee deep in kids fighting and being sassy.
Then sometimes you have a moment when you really do wonder where it all goes.
(Came across some old pictures of the kids... it really does make me sad to see how fast it's all just moving along.)
Here are just the 3 of them in 2008...doesn't seem THAT long ago does it??
Here's the 4 of them just last weekend on a hike in Logan Canyon. How do I make time stop??

Easy Birthday Banner
Had a kid's birthday this week, and needed a "Birthday Banner"...(a super easy one that I could put together late the night before). I have one I made of fabric last year, but I don't love it and I need to make a new one, but this one worked great for the birthday boy.
I gathered some scrapbook paper that I had... as well as some vintage time cards that I had and hand cut them into little flags.
Then I just added scrapbook letter stickers (American Crafts) and then sewed them together on my sewing machine. I grabbed some tape and in about 10 min I had this Birthday Banner that my birthday boy loved.
I love sewing on paper... it's super easy and works for a lot of things.
The "H" is one of the vintage time cards... (My sister in law collects and sells old anything and she gave them to me.)

Chalkboard walls...
So there are a few things that I'm loving these days. Globes, owls, anything turquoise and.... CHALKBOARD WALLS! Love them!! Love the black background, the versatility of what you can put on there... and I am a sucker for any kind of office/school supply... so this of course chalkboard are right up my alley.
I love chalkboard walls so much that I painted 2 walls in my kitchen with chalkboard paint. I love how they turned out! (Sorry for the no-so-good-pictures...camera being wonky.)
I also did a little re-arranging... moving the fridge, ripping out the breakfast bar and making a new one out of a dresser... just a few little things. I love open shelving and so I decided to make some shelves to put where the old fridge was... where the new breakfast bar is.
(You can also see my globe and owl love...)
I still have more thing I need to do to my kitchen...(black and white tile floors, crown molding, repainting my chairs) but I'm liking where this is going.

Kayla's Wedding
In June my friend Jen's daughter Kayla got married. The reception was held in her backyard...(a fabulous backyard I might add) and I was able to do the decorations for it. It was an amazing wedding and the whole reception had a great energy. Kayla and Daniel are just the cutest ever and I was so honored that they let me have at with the decor.
Back on Track...
So I haven't been blogging...(obviously) since last October. I couldn't remember the email I attached to this blog and had a ba-zillion things going on... and so on and so forth... But none of that matters now because I'm back. I'm planning on being a better blogger. And I have a lot of things to catch up on and fun projects to blog about. Yay!
